Abstract:
A valuable-metal recovery method for recovering metals from lithium-ion batteries without using cumbersome steps and using comparatively simple equipment. A positive-electrode material containing a lithium/transition-metal composite oxide is dissolved in an acid solution; the resulting acidic solution containing lithium ions and transition-metal ions is passed through a base anion-exchange resin; and the metal ions are separated by collecting a solution eluted from the anion-exchange resin over an initial period (D) into a first container, said solution having a high relative concentration of transition-metal ions, and collecting a solution eluted over a subsequent period (E) into a second container, said solution having a high relative concentration of lithium ions.
