Abstract:
A machine for bending a metal sheet inserted between an upper die and lower die to a desired angle for detecting highly accurately a bend angle during the bending irrespective of a bent leg length of the metal sheet or even when the material of the metal sheet changes to thereby bend the metal sheet to a desired angle. While the metal sheet is being bent to a desired angle on the metal sheet bending machine for bending the metal sheet inserted between the upper die and the lower die to a desired angle, the present invention picks up and stores sequentially measurement linear projection images which are formed on the bent outer surface of this metal sheet by a measurement light source and which turns and moves with the change of a bending angle, calculates a bending angle of the metal sheet on the basis of the stored image, and controls the position of the upper die or the lower die on the basis of the calculation result so as to bend the metal sheet to the desired angle. The bending angle of the metal sheet may be obtained on the basis of the turning direction of a measurement linear projection image on the image, or may be obtained on the basis of an angle defined by the measurement linear projection image and a reference linear projection image formed by a reference light source which forms a linear projection image of a desired predetermined angle irrespective of a bending angle by projecting light on the bent outer surface of this metal plate.
