Abstract:
A rubber/cord composite object (9) which comprises: metallic cords (10) comprising
plated wires (17E) obtained by forming a brass deposit layer (16) on the surface
of uncoated wires (15) and drawing the plated wires; and a rubber (12) bonded to
the metallic cords (10) through vulcanization. It has, between the rubber (12)
and the brass deposit layer (16), an adhesive reaction layer (25) formed by the
crosslinking reaction of sulfur with the copper. When the composite object is
held in an atmosphere having a temperature of 50-100°C and a humidity of
60-100% for 1 hour to 20 days to bring the adhesive reaction layer (25) into the
state of being deteriorated by moisture and heat, then the adhesive reaction
layer (25) has an average thickness of 50-1,000 nm and the interface (S) of the
adhesive reaction layer (25) has a fractal dimension in the range of 1.001-1.300.
