Abstract:
A metallic foreign material detection device 14 is to be used in a wireless power transmission system that transmits power in a wireless manner from a power supply coil to a power receiving coil. The metallic foreign material detection device is provided with: an antenna coil L3; a capacitor C3 that forms a resonant circuit RC with the antenna coil L3; a vibration detection circuit 145a that is configured such that the vibration detection circuit can detect generation of a vibration signal in the resonant circuit RC; and a determining circuit 144a that detects, on the basis of the vibration signal, whether there is a metallic foreign material. The vibration detection circuit 145a is configured so as to output a detection state signal DS that indicates the detection state of generation of the vibration signal. The determining circuit 144a is configured so as to perform, in accordance with the detection state signal DS, operations of detecting whether there is a metallic foreign material.
