Abstract:
A metamaterial manufacturing method and a metamaterial manufactured thereby. The manufacturing method comprises the following steps: a ) separately adding at least one of wave absorber powder and metal electrode powder, and insulating substrate powder to thermoplastic resin to mix well as a raw material; b) forming, according to metamaterial micro-structure design, the raw material into micro-structured unit rod materials by using a coextrusion process; and c) arranging the micro-structured unit rod materials according to a periodic micro-structure arrangement mode, putting the arranged micro-structured unit rod materials in an extruder, and coextruding periodically arranged metamaterial micro-structures by using the extruder. A metamaterial can be manufactured by means of the method. By combining a polymer coextrusion process and a metamaterial technology, the solution provides a ceramic-based metamaterial manufacturing method having high efficiency, low iteration cost, and high yield rate. A thinner and more efficient wave-absorbing metamaterial is obtained by means of a coextrusion-cofiring process.
