A metering control system for a valve plate metering machine. The valve plate metering machine comprises a hopper (1) that has a discharge port; a material collector carrying a weighing device is disposed below the hopper (1); the discharge port (2) of the hopper (1) is provided with a valve plate (3); the valve plate (3) is connected to an air cylinder (6); the air cylinder (6) is provided with a solenoid valve, and the solenoid valve is configured to control the air cylinder (6), thereby driving the valve plate (3) to have a first position (A), a second position (B), and a third position (C) relative to the discharge port. Also provided is a metering control method for the valve plate metering machine. The metering control method for the valve plate metering machine may be used to extend the lifetime of the mechanisms of the air cylinder (6) and the valve plate (3); the degree to which the valve plate (3) is in a partially closed state may be arbitrarily adjusted to cope with various materials; and large and small metering is added to a valve plate metering structure, taking into account the measurement accuracy and capability.
