Abstract:
Disclosed is a methane fermentation method and a methane fermentation device which can maintain a high decomposition rate in a short time without having a complex device configuration. Methane fermentation is performed using a methane fermentation device having: a first sludge concentration measurement means (10) which measures the sludge concentration of a fermented liquid in a methane fermentation tank (2); a second sludge concentration measurement means (20) which measures the sludge concentration of a prescribed portion of a sludge sediment liquid formed by a gravity sedimentation means (3); and a control device (100) which compares the sludge concentration measured by the first sludge concentration measurement means (10) and the sludge concentration measured by the second sludge concentration measurement means (20), and controls the amounts of liquid such that the sludge concentration of the liquid returned to the methane fermentation tank (2) via a return line (L2) is higher than the sludge concentration of the fermented liquid in the methane fermentation tank (2), and such that the sludge concentration of the liquid discharged via a discharge line (L6) is lower than the sludge concentration of the fermented liquid in the methane fermentation tank (2).
