Disclosed are a method for activating a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) repetition mechanism and a node device. The method for activating the packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) repetition mechanism comprises: a second node receiving a notification message sent when a first node configures a PDCP repetition mechanism for a bearer; and after receiving the notification message, the second node changing or determining an activated or deactivated state of the PDCP repetition mechanism of an uplink of the bearer.
