Title:
METHOD FOR ADAPTIVE TARGET PROCESSING IN A MOTOR VEHICLE RADAR SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002035255
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for adaptive target processing in a motor vehicle radar system. Targets are detected according to speed and environmental location in a normal radar sensor mode. Once the targets have been detected in normal mode, a switch occurs to a fine mode. In said fine mode, the distance measurement range of the radar sensor is adapted to the detected target environment. According to the invention, accuracy of measurement and/or resolution is improved in relation to speed within the distance measurement range adapted to the target environment by increasing observation time.
