Abstract:

An autoclave (100) of a high pressure acid leaching process in which heated and pressurized starting material slurry and sulfuric acid are stirred by stirrers (30A, 30B...) provided in respective divided chambers (20A, 20B...) in an autoclave that is multiply divided using partition walls (10A, 10B...) to promote the leaching and the slurry is transferred from the upstream divided chambers to the downstream divided chambers and leaching is promoted successively. The mixing of the starting material slurry and sulfuric acid is promoted and the control value for the free sulfuric acid concentration after discharge is reduced by: alternately disposing starting material slurry-supplying tubes (41, 42), which have starting material slurry discharging ports (41A, 42A), and sulfuric acid-supplying tubes (51, 52), which have sulfuric acid-supplying ports (51A, 52A), around the stirring blades (31A) of the stirrer (30A) provided in the divided chamber (20A) at the upstream end; and adding the starting material slurry and sulfuric acid to the divided chamber (20A) of the upstream end from the starting material slurry-discharging ports (41, 42) and the sulfuric acid-discharging ports (51A, 52A) that are positioned at positions higher than the top part of the stirring blades (31A) and lower than the surface (L) of the contained liquid.
