Abstract:
A method for adjusting the activity of a biofilm according to the present invention comprises: bringing a medium containing 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone and water into contact with a conductor on which a bacterium-derived biofilm is formed; and adjusting the activity of the biofilm by applying, to the conductor, a first electric potential that exceeds the lower limit value of an electric potential window and is at most -0.4 V with respect to a silver/silver chloride electrode reference. With the method for adjusting the activity of a biofilm according to the present invention, an excellent effect of adjusting the activity of a biofilm can be attained.
