Abstract:
Provided is a method for adjusting the brightness of an RGBW liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display comprises RGBW sub-pixels (101, 102, 103, 104), wherein the brightness of the W sub-pixel (101) is implemented by one or more approaches of adjusting the width, the spacing, the liquid crystal box thickness and the number of branches of a sub-pixel electrode (201) corresponding to the W sub-pixel (101), a channel region at the sub-pixel electrode (201) corresponding to the W sub-pixel (101), and an aperture ratio at the sub-pixel electrode (201) corresponding to the W sub-pixel (101). Also provided is a liquid crystal display. The brightness of the W sub-pixel (101) is adjusted using the method for adjusting the brightness of an RGBW liquid crystal display. The present invention overcomes the defects of the liquid crystal display of an RGBW four-color display system, expands the advantages of the liquid crystal display of the RGBW four-color display system, and improves the application range and the display quality of the liquid crystal display of the RGBW four-color display system and the watching comfort of human eyes.
