Abstract:
Provided is a method for surface treatment of a magnesium metal material, which comprises: a step for preparing an aqueous solution of a composition containing 8-quinolinol and at least one selected from water-soluble compounds having two carboxyl groups, salts of the water-soluble compounds having two carboxyl groups, sulfuric acid, and water-soluble sulfuric acid salts; and a step for bringing the aqueous solution of the composition into contact with the surface of the magnesium metal material. This surface treatment method results in the formation of a corrosion-resistant film on the surface of the magnesium metal material.
