Title:
METHOD FOR ANALYZING INFORMATION FOR DIAGNOSIS AND KIT THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/097862
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a novel method for analyzing information for diagnosis, whereby prostate cancer can be distinguished from a benign prostate disease at a high accuracy, and a kit for diagnosis to be used for acquiring the diagnostic information. One embodiment of the method for analyzing information for diagnosis according to the present invention is a method for analyzing information for diagnosis that comprises: measuring the concentration of mucin-1 (Tn-MUC1) having reactivity with a lectin, said lectin being capable of recognizing an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine→serine (threonine) residue and binding thereto, in a blood sample collected from a subject to be diagnosed; comparing the measured value with a threshold; and, when the measured mucin-1 concentration is higher than the threshold, it is estimated that the subject suffers not from prostate cancer but from a benign prostate disease. One embodiment of the kit for diagnosis according to the present invention is a kit for diagnosis that comprises an anti-mucin-1 antibody for treating Tn-MUC1 and a lectin for detection, said lectin being capable of recognizing an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine→serine (threonine) residue and binding thereto.
