Abstract:
A method for analyzing an iris image by artificial intelligence so as to diagnose dementia in real time on a smartphone according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving an input image, which is obtained by imaging a user's eye, from a user terminal; extracting a region of interest from the input image so as to extract an iris; resizing the extracted region of interest into a square shape and scaling the size of the region of interest; applying a deep neural network to the region of interest, which has been resized and scaled; applying detection and segmentation to the image obtained by applying the deep neural network, thereby detecting a lesion region; and confirming the position of the lesion region through the detection and determining the shape of the lesion region through the segmentation, thereby diagnosing dementia. The step of extracting a region of interest may further comprise a step of extracting the region of interest, which is a minimum region for extracting an iris, by excluding the region that is not used to diagnose dementia from the input image. The step of applying a deep neutral network may further comprise a step of applying a deep neural network in such a manner of assigning a weight to the region of interest, compared with the region of the input image, which is not extracted as the region of interest. The step of diagnosing dementia may further comprise a step of diagnosing dementia type on the basis of the position and shape of the lesion region.
