Abstract:
A method and apparatus for adjusting an audio coding rate, used to solve the problem in which audio quality of an audio signal transmitted by a terminal or a base station cannot be ensured throughout one call. During one audio data transmission process, a first base station adjusts, according to values of an audio data-related packet loss rate and transport block of a terminal, a first coding rate of the terminal to a second coding rate, wherein the first coding rate is a coding rate currently being used by the terminal; the first base station sends to the terminal the second coding rate; and the first base station receives from the terminal audio data using the second coding rate. The present invention enables a first base station to adjust, according to an audio data-related packet loss rate and transport block of a terminal, a coding rate for data transmission between the terminal and the first base station during one call, thus guaranteeing audio quality of audio signal transmission between the terminal and the first base station.
