Abstract:
Provided is a butt-joining apparatus for butt-joining of a sheet material. The apparatus is capable of joining readily sheets of a material (S) by butting with uniform joint strength at a low cost. In the apparatus, the front and rear lower craws (21a, 21b) and front and rear upper craws (45a, 45b) are divided respectively into portions and are supported swingably independently by a lower table (19) and an upper table (43). Thereby, provided that the working precision of the front and rear lower craws (21a, 21b) and of the front and rear upper craws (45a, 45b) and their assemblage precision relative to the lower table (19) and upper table (43) are at an ordinary level, the front and rear lower craws (21a, 21b) and the front and rear upper craws (45a, 45b) can be brought into contact uniformly with the lower and upper faces of the front and rear end portions of the sheet material (S).
