Abstract:
A method and apparatus for cell handover and terminal identification, relating to the technical field of communications. The method for cell handover comprises: a first network device determines that a terminal device satisfies a first handover decision condition, and determines N first cells and M second cells according to a measurement report reported by the terminal device, the measurement report comprising an RSRP of at least one neighboring cell and/or a downlink estimate SINR of the at least one neighboring cell; determine from the N first cells and the M second cells a target cell to which the terminal device is to be switched; finally send a first handover request to a network device of the target cell. The first network device is located in a serving cell of the terminal device, the N first cells are the first N neighboring cells in the downlink estimate SINR ranked in a descending order, and the M second cells are the first M neighboring cells in the RSRP ranked in a descending order. By means of the technical solution, the probability of handover of the terminal device to a cell of low signal-to-noise ratio can be improved when the downlink interference is large.
