Abstract:

A method and apparatus for cleaning circulation water in which troublesome cleaning work of cleaning off scale in an electrolytic cleaner by removing an electrode plate therefrom is not required and the maintenance/management cost is reduced as much as possible. In the method for cleaning circulation water by feeding circulation water to be cleaned between opposing electrode plates, applying a DC voltage between the electrode plates, and depositing metal ions in the circulation water electrolytically on the negative electrode plate, titanium plates are employed as the electrode plates and a desired amount of current is fed while causing dielectric breakdown of an anode oxide coating forcedly by elevating the voltage applied to the anode oxide coating formed on the surface of the positive electrode plate.
