Abstract:
Method for localizing an active stylus on a capacitive touch device, the capacitive touch device comprising a first array of charge sensors in a first direction, and a second array of charge sensors in a second direction different from the first direction, wherein the first array of charge sensors is arranged for measuring a first data vector, the second array of charge sensors is arranged for measuring a second data vector, the method comprising the following steps: - localizing the active stylus with a first precision, - localizing the active stylus with a second precision higher than the first precision wherein the step of localizing the active stylus with a first precision comprises: - localizing active stylus touch candidates, and wherein the step of localizing the active stylus with a second precision comprises: - fitting a model function to each active stylus touch candidate, - associating a fitting score to said fitting, - discarding active stylus touch candidates depending on said fitting score and a fitting threshold.
