Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method of user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system comprises receiving, from a base station (BS), a downlink signal including position information for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of a short physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), determining, based on the position information, a position of the OFDM symbols of the short PUCCH included in a slot, and transmitting, to the BS, the short PUCCH using the OFDM symbols based on the determined position.
