Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and apparatus for controlling boot video playing of a terminal device. The method comprises the following steps of: detecting the size of an available capacity in a terminal device, and after the terminal device is connected to a cloud server, acquiring the size of a boot video file in the cloud server; determining whether the boot video file in the cloud server is greater than the available capacity of the terminal device; if not, downloading the boot video file in the cloud server; and after it is detected that the boot video file is downloaded, playing the boot video file during a boot process. By detecting the size of a boot video file in a cloud server and the size of the available capacity in a terminal device, and downloading the boot video file in the cloud server only when it is determined that the boot video file in the cloud server is not greater than the available capacity of the terminal device, the problem in the prior art that a boot operation fails to be performed, which is caused by the fact that a boot video file cannot be saved in a terminal device due to the too large boot video file, is solved.
