Abstract:
In accordance with an example of the present invention a time period is derived, a channel quality measurement for a downlink is performed, a channel quality indication report, e.g. a CQI report, is generated and an uplink sounding reference signal is coupled to the channel quality indication report e.g. by typing the bandwidth of the uplink sounding reference signal to the bandwidth of the channel quality indication report, within the derived time period. In an embodiment, a network terminal uses a subset of the bandwidth that is normally requested to use. The subset selection may be based on the channel quality indication report's selected subbands. Hence, coupled sounding occupies less bandwidth than non-coupled sounding.
