Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING WHETHER A WEARABLE DEVICE IS CURRENTLY BEING WORN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/133602
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for detecting whether a wearable device is currently being worn. The method comprises: utilizing an acceleration sensor (71) to detect acceleration of the wearable device, and activating detection of the current status of the wearable device if the acceleration of the wearable device changes; utilizing a proximity sensor (72) to detect a distance between the wearable device and an adjacent object, and activating a heart rate sensor (73) and a temperature sensor (74) if the distance between the wearable device and the adjacent object is less than a predetermined distance, and determining that the wearable device is currently being worn if data detected by the heart rate sensor (73) meets a predetermined heart rate, and a surface temperature of the adjacent object detected by the temperature sensor (74) meets a predetermined temperature. Also disclosed is an apparatus for detecting whether a wearable device is currently being worn. By utilizing an acceleration sensor (71) to activate detection of the current status of a wearable device, the present invention can effectively lower power consumption of the wearable device. In addition, by utilizing a plurality of sensors in combination to detect the device's current status, the present invention can accurately determine whether a wearable device is currently being worn.
