Abstract:
A method for diagnosing state of health (SOH) imbalance between battery cells included in a used battery device comprises the steps of: detecting the voltage value differences between the battery cells; charging the battery cells for a first period, receiving respective charging voltage values of the battery cells from the used battery device, and determining a charging voltage ranking on the basis of the charging voltage values; discharging the battery cells for a second period, receiving respective discharging voltage values of the battery cells from the used battery device, and determining a discharging voltage ranking on the basis of the discharging voltage values; determining N (N is a natural number) high-rank battery cells having large voltage value differences between the charging voltage values and the discharging voltage values; and diagnosing that the battery device has SOH imbalance if there is, among the N high-rank battery cells, a deteriorated battery cell of which the discharging voltage ranking drops by at least an M (M is a natural number) rank in comparison to the charging voltage ranking.
