Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for discovering a neighboring device by using Bluetooth low energy (LE). In particular, a method performed by a second device may comprise the steps of: receiving, from a first device, a write request message which instructs a change in an advertising channel map and a scanning channel map, wherein the write request message includes an advertisement channel map characteristic and a scanning channel map characteristic; transmitting a write response message to the first device in response to the write request message; transmitting, to a controller of the second device by a host of the second device, a host controller interface (HCI) command which instructs the controller of the second device to change the advertisement channel map on the basis of the advertisement channel map characteristic; and transmitting, to the first device by the controller of the second device, an advertising message by using the changed advertisement channel map.
