Abstract:
A Frame Rate Up-Conversion (FRUC) mode, based on frame rate up-conversion techniques, is developed in the reference software JEM (Joint Exploration Model) by the Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET). In one embodiment, we propose to add the AMVP candidates for an AMVP entire block when the FRUC tool is used. The FRUC list may further include at least a motion vector of a spatial neighboring left block or a spatial neighboring above block, when using the same reference picture as the current block. The motion vector of spatial neighboring top-left, top-right and bottom-left blocks can also be included in the FRUC list when using the same reference picture as the current block. In one implementation, the AMVP candidates may be inserted at the beginning of the list of FRUC candidates, and the top, left, top-left, bottom-left and top-left candidates may be added at the end of the FRUC list.
