Abstract:
A method for extracting an avalanche signal. The method comprises: acquiring an APD signal (1020) that is output by a single-photon detector, wherein the APD signal (1020) comprises an upper spike (P1) that is generated along with a rising edge of a gating signal (1010) and a lower spike (P2) that is generated along with a falling edge of the gating signal (1010); determining a delay position of the upper spike (P1) in the APD signal (1020), so as to determine a delay position of the lower spike (P2) in the APD signal (1020) by means of a gate width (W1) of the gating signal (1010); moving a coincidence gate signal (1040), so as to align a delay position of a falling edge of the coincidence gate signal (1040) with the delay position of the lower spike (P2) in the APD signal (1020); and performing an AND operation on a comparison result between the APD signal (1020) and a discrimination threshold, and the coincidence gate signal (1040), so as to extract an avalanche signal from the APD signal (1020). Further disclosed is an apparatus (100) for extracting an avalanche signal. By means of the method and apparatus (100), the effect of spike noise caused by a gating signal (1010) on the extraction of an avalanche signal can be effectively avoided, thereby remarkably improving the code formation rate of a quantum communication system.
