Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for implementing privacy amplification in quantum key distribution. Participants of quantum key distribution comprise a first participant and a second participant, the first participant and the second participant having a shared first key pool, and the first key pool comprising a plurality of keys. The method is performed on a terminal of either the first participant or the second participant, and the method comprises: obtaining an auxiliary character string used in the present round of privacy amplification, the auxiliary character string being determined on the basis of a seed key determined from the first key pool and a first hash function agreed with the other participant; obtaining, by using a streaming means, a plurality of first bits in a first key after passing through information negotiation; and performing a preset inter-bit calculation operation on the plurality of first bits and bits at corresponding positions in the auxiliary character string to obtain a plurality of second bits so as to form a second key after privacy amplification.
