Disclosed are a method and apparatus for improving an object image. The present embodiment provides a method and apparatus for restoring an object image, which detect a position of a landmark of an object within a bounding box detected from an input image, improve the image using a learning model learned from a front object image in the state that warping is performed to align the object to be positioned at a center or reference position on the basis of the landmark, and enable restoration of a more natural image by performing inverse warping that rotates back the improved image by original angle or direction, and then inserting the inverse warped image into the input image. Also, the present embodiment provides a method and apparatus for restoring an object image, which detect a position of a landmark of an object within a bounding box detected from an input image, perform pose estimation for an side object on the basis of the landmark, and improve the image using a learning model learned from the side object image corresponding to a result of the pose estimation.
