Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing a corrugated steel pipe, in which a spiral corrugation is formed on the body of the pipe, and the inner surface of the body of the pipe is smooth without any curvature to thereby improve the strength of the pipe and enable a fluid to stably flow during use. The method for manufacturing a corrugated pipe according to the present invention comprises the following steps: feeding a steel sheet into a first roll forming machine (100a); forming a first corrugated portion (A), including a recess formed integrally therein, on the surface of the steel sheet; forming a pair of tilted portions (136) outwardly from either side of the first corrugated portion (A); forming said pair of tilted portions (136) into a pair of second corrugated portions (B) having a recesses formed integrally therein, and which are corrugated in the direction opposite to the first corrugated portion; firstly pressing the top of the first corrugated portion (A) such that the second corrugated portions (B) are tightly disposed opposite one another; secondly pressing the top of the first corrugated portion (A) such that the top of the first corrugated portion (A) forms the same plane as the surface of the steel sheet and tightly contacts the recesses of the second corrugated portions (B); and passing the steel sheet through a second roll forming machine (100b) and winding the steel sheet into a cylindrical shape.
