Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing products from light metal such as aluminum or aluminum alloys, wherein an amount of light metal is introduced into a mold cavity of a mold in a substantially molten condition, whereupon the volume of the mold cavity is reduced to substantially the desired dimensions of the product such that the mold cavity is completely filled with light metal, while at least during introduction of the light metal, the mold is heated.
