Abstract:
Embodiments herein disclose method and device for measuring body temperature using a camera in the device. The camera is an RGB and/or a NIR camera. A plurality of frames of a media captured by the RGB and/or NIR camera is preprocessed. A plurality of features comprising of statistical features, and time domain and frequency domain based PPG features are extracted from the preprocessed frames. The features can be extracted from an R channel, a G channel, a B channel, and/or an IR channel in each of the plurality of frames, wherein the features are extracted, from each of the R, G, B, and/or IR channels, within ROIs in each of the plurality of frames. The body temperature is measured using classifiers and regression models, based on the extracted plurality of features. The body temperature is periodically measured, monitored, and transmitted to nearby/remote devices.
