Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING CHARACTERISTIC OF OBJECT WITH ACOUSTICALLY INDUCED ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/055057
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for measuring a change in the characteristic value or the like of charged particles in an object from an electromagnetic wave induced by irradiating an object (23) to be measured with an acoustic wave. The portion (2) of the object to be measured which is irradiated with an acoustic wave focus beam (1) is in a charge distributed state in which many positive charged particles (3) are present, and thus the electromagnetic waves induced by the positive charged particles (3) and negative charged particles (4) do not completely negate each other to produce an actual electromagnetic wave (6). When the concentration of the positive charged particles (3) and/or the negative charged particles (4) changes, the strength of the electromagnetic wave (6) changes, thus allowing to detect the concentration change in the charged particles from the strength change in the wave (6).
