Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for learning a confidence map using a confidence measure for a stereo image and for measuring confidence of a depth map generated through stereo matching. The disclosed method for measuring confidence comprises the steps of: generating a cost volume from a reference stereo image; calculating a first confidence measure for each pixel of the reference stereo image using the cost volume; calculating a second confidence measure for each pixel using a plurality of super pixels for the pixel; learning a first confidence map for the first and the second confidence measures; and generating a second confidence map for the depth map of a target stereo image using a result of the learning, wherein the first confidence map is a confidence for a reference depth map generated through a stereo matching of the reference stereo image.
