Abstract:
An assembly and methods for constructing a monowell (12) having a monodiameter casing (70) disposed in a monodiameter wellbore (10) having a diametric efficiency with a monobore production system within the casing. The assembly for constructing the monowell (12) includes a bottomhole assembly (210) with a overgauge hole drilling member (212), a directional steering assembly (214), and a MWD tool (218 and 222); chemical casing (236) located in the wellbore (10); expandable casing (70) in the wellbore (10); and a sealing composition located between the expandable casing (70) and the wellbore (10). The method for drilling the well (12) involves drilling an initial portion of the wellbore (10), applying a catalyst to the borehole wall; back reaming as the drilling assembly (212) is raised to the initial borehole portion; applying a set up material to the borehole wall; forming chemical casing (236) by reacting the set up and catalyst material; repeating the steps for other portions of the wellbore (10); installing a string of casing.
