Abstract:

A method for Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) downlink transmission control in communication field is provided by the embodiments of the present invention. Said method comprises acquiring a channel fading variation rate of a user and a feedback delay (10); computing and obtaining a throughput gain of closed loop MIMO according to said channel fading variation rate and feedback delay (11); and determining a downlink transmission mode according to said throughput gain of the closed loop MIMO (12), said downlink transmission mode including closed loop mode or open loop mode. An apparatus for MIMO downlink transmission control is also provided by the embodiments of the present invention. Based on the channel fading variation rate (i.e. mobility) of a user and a feedback delay, the embodiments of the present invention can select a downlink transmission mode, realize supporting different operation modes (open loop and closed loop) at the same time, facilitate the multiple-user joint transmission, and further realize the increase of the downlink throughput using the mobility difference.
