Abstract:
A method and apparatus for playing streaming media are disclosed in the present invention, wherein the method includes: a client end dynamically detects the transmission quality of streaming media; and the client end adjusts the current playing speed of the streaming media and a time length of a buffer area based on preset rules according to the current transmission quality of the streaming media. The apparatus for playing streaming media includes a streaming media transmission quality detection module and a streaming media playing module, wherein the streaming media transmission quality detection module is configured to dynamically detect the transmission quality of streaming media; and the streaming media playing module is configured to adjust the current playing speed of the streaming media and a time length of a buffer area based on preset rules according to the current transmission quality of the streaming media. The present invention can relieve the effects of network delay, thus providing better streaming media playing experience to users.
