Embodiments of the present application provide a method and apparatus for processing a service flow in a packet network, conducive to simplifying fault detection and switching operations and improving the forwarding efficiency. The method is applied in a network device group. The network device group comprises a first network device and a second network device, and the first network device is connected to the second network device. The method comprises: the first network device obtains a first uplink service flow; the first network device receives, by means of a first pseudo wire, a second uplink service flow sent by the second network device; the first network device obtains a third uplink service flow according to a first reference sequence number, sequence numbers comprised in all uplink data packets in the first uplink service flow, and sequence numbers comprised in all uplink data packets in the second uplink service flow, a sequence number comprised in any uplink data packet in the third uplink service flow being greater than the first reference sequence number; the first network device sends the third uplink service flow to a next-hop node.
