Abstract:
An apparatus for production of semi-solidified alloy slurry by electromagnetic stirring in annulus of a tank, mainly includes an electromagnetic stirrer(1), a heat preserving system(2), an outer cooled body for controlling cooling of slurry(3), a production crucible for preparation of slurry(6), a standing crucible for holding molten alloy(11) and a crucible for melting(12). An inner cooled body for controlling cooling of slurry(14) is arranged in the central portion of the production crucible (6), thereby forming annulus between the outer wall of the inner cooled body(14) and the inner wall of the production crucible(6). A method for production of semi-solidified alloy slurry by electromagnetic stirring in annulus of a tank is characterized in that, pouring molten alloy with a temperature of 5~200℃ higher than liquidus temperature into the annulus between the outer wall of the inner cooled body(14) and the inner wall of the production crucible(6), and molten alloy is strongly agitated by the electromagnetic stirrer(1), at the same time the cooling medium passed into the outer cooled body(3) and the inner cooled body(14) ensures slurry(7) an more uniform temperature field, thus semi-solidified compositions with fine and even crystal grains are prepared.
