METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RAISING STILL WATER WITH CARBON DIOXIDE AS DRIVING FLUID

Deep water is utilized, and carbon dioxide is recovered in large quantities from industrial facilities and is fixed.  Provided are: a method in which fluidal carbon dioxide is injected into still water to move deep water to near the water surface while utilizing the resultant flow rising in the water and to dissolve the carbon dioxide in the water; and an apparatus for use in the method. A cylinder with both ends open is vertically disposed in water so that the upper end is located near the water surface and the lower end is located deeper.  A nozzle is disposed in the middle of the cylinder so that the nozzle pierces the wall of the cylinder.  Piping extending from the outside of the cylinder is connected to the nozzle.  Fluidal carbon dioxide is fed to the inside of the cylinder through the piping and the nozzle, and an ascending flow of the carbon dioxide is utilized to draw water from the lower end and discharge the water from the upper end.  Simultaneously therewith, the carbon dioxide is mixed with and dissolved in the water.
