Abstract:
A method and apparatus for realizing ARP broadcasting limitation are provided. The method includes: (a) a network device distributes the information of the bridge port which a correlative message and a dynamic IP address distributing request message enter according to the dynamic IP address, establishes and maintains the mapping table of the IP address and the bridge port, wherein said mapping table of the IP address and the bridge port includes several pieces of mapping table records; (b) the network device extracts the ARP request, looks for said mapping table according to the destination IP address in said ARP request, and obtains the corresponding bridge port; (c) the network device unicasts said ARP request to said bridge port. The method and apparatus of the present invention may realize the unicast of the ARP request and prevent attack of a hacker effectively.
