Abstract:
A method for realizing optical network unit activation, wherein an optical network unit (ONU) communicates with an optical line terminal (OLT) via a plurality of paths. The method comprises: an OLT discovering an ONU in one of the paths; and/or the OLT selecting one of the paths to range the ONU. By means of the technical solution, an OLT only discovers and/or ranges an ONU on one of a plurality of paths, that is to say, the activation process does not need to be executed on each path, so that the activation procedure of a multipath PON is rapidly completed in a multipath PON architecture, and the work efficiency is also improved at the same time.
