Abstract:

In the present invention, the following are included: a step for adding an inorganic salt to an aqueous solution that contains Dy and at least one of Nd and Pr, and then stirring the same (an inorganic salt addition step); a step for adding, following the inorganic salt addition step, a first flocculant that contains an organic material having carboxyl groups and a second flocculant that contains an organic material having amino groups, in that order, so as to precipitate an agglomerate that contains a higher quantity of Dy than of Nd and/or Pr (a flocculant addition step); and a centrifugal separation step for separating the precipitate and the liquid phase by centrifugal separation following the flocculant addition step so as to recover the precipitate and the liquid phase. In the present invention, the following are also included: a step for adding a first flocculant that contains an organic material having carboxyl groups and a second flocculant that contains an organic material having amino groups in that order to an aqueous solution that contains Dy and at least one of Nd and Pr so as to precipitate an agglomerate that contains a higher quantity of Dy than of Nd and/or Pr (a flocculant addition step); a step for freezing and thawing the precipitate and the liquid phase following the flocculant addition step (a freezing/thawing step); and a step for recovering the precipitate and the liquid phase.
