Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A UE in a wireless communication system is provided. The UE comprises a transceiver configured to receive SS/PBCH block over downlink channels using a set of parameters based on an operation mode. The operation mode is configured for the SS/PBCH block as a first operation mode in which the SS/PBCH block is used on a LAA Scell or a second operation mode in which the SS/PBCH block is at least used on a Pcell. The set of parameters is configured as a first set of parameters for the SS/PBCH block when the operation mode of the SS/PBCH block is configured as the first operation mode or a second set of parameters for the SS/PBCH block when the operation mode of the SS/PBCH block is configured as the second operation mode. The first and second set of parameters include different information each other.
