A method and apparatus for suppressing electromagnetic interference. The method for suppressing electromagnetic interference comprises: receiving a signal from an IC terminal, and carrying out common-mode suppression processing on the received signal, so as to eliminate or reduce at least an interference signal mixed in the received signal (S101); and coupling the signal after the common-mode suppression processing, so as to obtain at least a signal with enhanced driving capacity, and transmitting the signal to a network port terminal (S102). Since the signal from the IC terminal is first received and the received signal is subjected to the common-mode suppression processing, the interference signal is at least eliminated or reduced in advance. Since, after the common-mode suppression processing, the signal is then coupled, a signal with at least an enhanced driving capacity is obtained, and the obtained signal is transmitted to the network port terminal, avoiding amplification of the interference signal, and difficulty in or incapability of eliminating the interference resulting from adopting a solution of the prior art, and as a result the electromagnetic interference is eliminated or suppressed, which effectively solves problems such as excessive electromagnetic interference.
