Provided are a method, apparatus and system for collecting statistics of the amount of flow usage, relating to the technical field of communications, and the method is applied to an AF. The method comprises: receiving a reauthorization request message sent by a PCRF, the reauthorization request message comprising the current amount of flow usage of a service flow of a third-party payment service; generating a reauthorization response message according to the reauthorization request message, the reauthorization response message comprising a third-party payment connection data cell, and the third-party payment connection data cell carrying flow statistics indication information; and sending the reauthorization response message to the PCRF, so that the PCRF sends a credit control response message to a PCEF according to the reauthorization response message, the credit control response message comprising the flow statistics indication information. The present invention solves the problems that the delay of message transmission is relatively large and the accuracy of the statistics of the amount of flow usage is low, achieves the effects of reducing the delay of message transmission and improving the accuracy of the statistics of the amount of flow usage, and is used for collecting the statistics of the amount of flow usage.
