A method for transmitting an indication message to be received, comprising: an access point sending a broadcast message, the broadcast message comprising: indication bitmap information to be transmitted, information about a first station group waiting to receive and send time information about a first trigger message, wherein the first station group waiting to receive corresponds to the first trigger message; the first trigger message is used for instructing stations waiting to receive which support a multi-user transmission mechanism in the first station group waiting to receive to simultaneously send the indication message to be received to the access point; and the stations waiting to receive are stations indicating that there is downlink data in the TIM; the access point sending the first trigger message according to the sending time information about the first trigger message; and the access point receiving the indication message to be received sent by at least one station of the first station group waiting to receive according to the first trigger message and using the multi-user transmission mechanism.
