Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. The present disclosure discloses a method performed by a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) apparatus. The method performed by the RIS apparatus comprises the steps of: establishing the number of fixed beams regarding a beam, a fixed reflection pattern regarding the beam, and a fixed period regarding the beam; and on the basis of the number of fixed beams, the fixed reflection pattern, and the fixed period, operating so as to reflect a signal, wherein the reflection pattern may be related to the amplitude and phase of the signal reflected by the RIS apparatus.
