Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting a reference signal in a small cell environment are provided. The present invention comprises the steps of: generating a reference signal sequence and performing resource element (RE) mapping; generating an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal including the reference signal on the basis of the RE mapping; and transmitting the OFDM signal to a terminal, wherein an RE mapping pattern of the reference signal is defined in units of two PRBs on the frequency and one sub-frame on the time, and is a pattern mapped to a total of 12 REs in each code division multiplexing (CDM) group within the two PRBs on the frequency and the one sub-frame on the time.
